LHS Family & Youth Services requires strong, confident staff members, who have the capacity to deal with high-risk youth who have behavioral and emotional difficulties. Youth may experience frequent emotional crises and be assaultive and/or destructive. You must have the skills to verbally de-escalate a crisis and to use mature judgment with a youth who is out of control. You will need leadership skills, milieu management skills, high energy levels, self discipline, a cool approach to volatile situations, reliability, flexibility, and dedication.

We are currently hiring for 3rd shift (must stay awake through the entire shift) positions. Experience working with high-risk youth, or a background in coaching, military or security is preferred. We are hiring for our facilities in Liberty Center, Ohio. LHS Housing & Community Services has an immediate opening in Oregon, Ohio, for a full-time general Maintenance/Groundskeeper. Applicants should possess building maintenance or skilled trade experience. This position will be responsible for making repairs to the building systems, completing preventative maintenance, and rehabbing units in a senior apartment living environment.

Additionally, the successful candidate will make sure the neat appearance of lawn, lawn edges, shrubs, trees, and other landscape areas. The individual will also ensure parking areas are neat and clean and that driveways are free of debris, snow, and ice. Semi-annual inspections and maintenance of HVAC systems will be required, along with annual apartment inspections performed in conjunction with the housing manager to conform to audit/inspection standards. Assistant Director of Rehabilitation

Lutheran Homes Society has an immediate need for a full-time Assistant Director of Rehabilitation for its Lutheran Village at Wolf Creek campus. This position will be responsible for assisting the Director of Rehabilitation with the management and administration of all aspects of rehabilitative services for the Wolf Creek campus, as well as maintaining a clinical caseload.

Additionally, this position will be responsible for personnel compliance and ensuring program quality and productivity standards are met. This individual will also be responsible for utilizing tracking systems and implementing any changes that may be necessary. The Assistant Director of Rehabilitation will work closely with the Director of Rehabilitation, facility administration, and nursing staff in order to provide the most appropriate services necessary for our residents. This position will be engaged in various aspects of the billing process, MDS assessment, quality assurance, and generating appropriate therapy-related reports.

A master’s or bachelor’s degree in Occupational, Speech or Physical Therapy or an associate degree as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant or Physical Therapy Assistant from an accredited program is required, along with successful completion of the National Certification Examination for the appropriate discipline. Resident/Transportation Aide

LHS Housing & Community Services has an immediate part-time opening (approximately25 hours per week with the possibility of transitioning to full-time) for a Resident/Transportation Aide at its Bethany Place location in Fremont, Ohio. This position will provide resident transportation for errands, doctor appointments, etc. Additional responsibilities include housekeeping, assisting with resident activities, and light office work.

Assisted Living, State Tested Nursing Assistants

LHS Housing & Community Services is currently accepting applications for full-time, part-time and PRN/contingent Assisted Living, State Tested Nursing Assistants for Bethany Place, a 45-unit market-rate senior living facility located in Fremont, Ohio. The STNAs will provide direct care for the 12 units licensed for assisted living residents. This position will perform the activities of daily living for residents, including dressing, bathing, personal hygiene, toileting, etc. Additionally, this individual will complete accurate and thorough documentation; observe and report changes in residents’ physical conditions; and maintain compliance with existing federal, state, and local standards, as well as our established policies and procedures, in an environment dedicated to quality resident care.

Candidates must be certified as a State Tested Nursing Assistant, with prior experience working in an assisted living or long-term care setting strongly preferred. Additionally, this individual must have a compassionate demeanor and the ability to work independently. This position will be recruited for both internally and externally concurrently. Fundraising/Development and Mission Integration Associate

Lutheran Homes Society has an immediate opening for a full-time Fundraising/Development and Mission Integration Associate. This position reports to the LHS Foundation Executive Director and is responsible for cultivating relationships with member and covenant partner congregations. Additionally, this individual will be responsible for developing and sustaining mission funding support for all LHS ministries through regular donor and prospective donor visits. 

A bachelor’s degree in fundraising/development or a related field (non-profit management, social services management, faith-based social ministry, etc.) is preferred. Familiarity with Microsoft Office products is a must, with experience in Raiser’s Edge database strongly preferred. Regular regional travel will be required. Senior Level Maintenance

LHS Housing & Community Services has an immediate opening in Toledo, Ohio, for a full-time Senior Level Maintenance position. Applicants should possess at least three years of supervisory experience and have a degree HVAC or Electrical troubleshooting and repair. Five years of field experience will be accepted in lieu of a degree. Regional travel will be required, but home daily. This position will be responsible for repair, replacement, and installation of various equipment to building systems and grounds in a senior apartment living environment. Position will maintain a housing unit and supervise maintenance staff at surrounding senior apartments.

The individual will also ensure parking areas are neat and clean and that driveways are free of debris, snow, and ice. Semi-annual inspections and maintenance of HVAC systems will be required, along with annual apartment inspections performed in conjunction with the housing manager to conform to audit/inspection standards.
