Low to Moderate Income Housing
Since 1981, Lutheran Homes Society's Lutheran Housing Services has provided secure, clean and affordable housing for the elderly.
Independent living apartments are located throughout northwest Ohio and southeast Michigan. Many of the units are federally subsidized which means that residents pay 30% of their adjusted income for rent. Rent includes all utilities, except telephone. Some communities were built using tax credits, which also keeps the cost of housing affordable.
Social, religious, and special activity programs are the focal point of each independent living environment. At each of the communities, a service coordinator is on site to help residents with tasks such as procuring meals, home healthcare, and housekeeping - all of which help in maintaining one's independence.
