LHS Family & Youth Services

Residential Youth Direct Care Staff
LHS Family & Youth Services requires strong, confident staff members, who have the capacity to physically manage youth who are experiencing an emotional crisis, are being assaultive and/or are being destructive. The candidate must have the skills to verbally de-escalate a crisis and use mature judgment during a management crisis. The candidate will need leadership skills, milieu management skills, high energy levels, self discipline, a cool approach to volatile situations, reliability, flexibility, and dedication. A bachelor’s degree in a related field is required.

The organization is hiring for full-time day and third shift (awake night) positions. Coaching, security or military experience preferred. The successful candidate would be working in our facility in Liberty Center, Ohio.

Full-time positions offer a competitive wage, health/vision/dental insurance, life insurance, and short-term disability, paid vacation, discretionary days, and a 401k after one year.

Behavioral Support Staff
Staff needed to work with a team to address the behavior management needs of severely behaviorally handicapped youth. This position requires a strong, confident staff member who has the capacity to physically manage youth who are experiencing an emotional crisis, are being assaultive and/or are being destructive. The candidate must have the skills to verbally de-escalate a crisis and use mature judgment during a management crisis.

The candidate will need high energy levels, self discipline, and the ability to provide a very cool approach to a volatile situation. We are looking for someone who is reliable, flexible and dedicated. An associate or bachelor’s degree in a related field is required. Competencies in objective observation, professional writing skills, and therapeutic communication skills are required.

The organization is hiring for two work sites. One is located in the Liberty Center school district, and the other is in the Oregon school district. Each location follows their respective district’s schedule for delays and closings.

The hours for this position are 7:45 am - 2:15 pm, Monday-Friday, unless there are closings or delays. This is a seasonal position and runs from August 2010 through June 2011, with the possibility of working contingent hours in our residential unit during the summer.

LHS Housing Services

Maintenance Worker
Lutheran Homes Society has an immediate opening for a part-time Maintenance Person at its housing services location in Oregon, Ohio. This position will be responsible for making minor repairs, replacements, and installations of various equipment to buildings, systems and grounds in a senior apartment living environment.

Additionally, this individual will assure neat appearance of lawn, lawn edges, shrubs, trees, and other landscape areas. The individual also must assure parking areas are neat, clean and that driveways are free of debris, snow, and ice. Semi-annual inspection and maintenance of HVAC systems also will be required, along with annual inspections of apartments in conjunction with the Housing Manager to conform to audit/inspection standards.

This position requires a high school diploma. We offer competitive pay in an environment dedicated to quality senior care.

Lutheran Village at Wolf Creek (Holland)

RN Supervisor
Lutheran Village at Wolf Creek currently is seeking to hire a full-time, day shift RN Supervisor.  Candidates must have a current Ohio RN license and experience in long-term care and supervising is strongly preferred. MDS Nurse (LPN)
Lutheran Village at Wolf Creek is searching for a dedicated and caring individual committed to providing quality care. This is an excellent opportunity to put your professional skills to work in a supportive atmosphere that is faith-based and values-driven.

STNAs
Lutheran Village at Wolf Creek is looking for individuals who are interested in working in an atmosphere dedicated to the quality care of our residents. We are currently accepting applications for all positions and shifts.

Candidates must have a valid Ohio nurse aide license and previous facility experience is strongly preferred.

Housekeeper
Lutheran Village at Wolf Creek has part-time Housekeeper positions available. The hours are 8 am-4 pm, and the positions require working every other weekend.  Previous experience is strongly preferred.

Laundry Aide
Lutheran Village at Wolf Creek is searching for a part-time, every other weekend Laundry Aide to work from 2 p.m.-10 p.m. Previous experience is strongly preferred.

Lutheran Memorial Home (Sandusky)

Assistant Director of Nursing
Lutheran Memorial Home, a ministry of Lutheran Homes Society, is searching for a dedicated and caring individual committed to providing quality care.  This position will assist the Director of Nursing in overseeing and directing day-to-day operations of the nursing department.

The successful candidate will have a current Ohio RN license, effective communication skills, previous supervisory experience, and strong clinical skills.  Previous experience in long-term care is preferred.

RN Supervisor
Lutheran Memorial Home is searching for a dedicated and caring individual committed to providing quality care and service. This position will assist in overseeing and directing the day-to-day functions of the nursing department.
 
The successful candidate will have a current Ohio RN licensure, previous supervisory experience, and a strong commitment to quality care.

Director of Environmental Services
Lutheran Memorial Home has a part-time (3 days a week) Director of Environmental Services position available. Experience in institutional electric, plumbing, dry wall, painting, and related general maintenance are required.

Candidates with previous supervisory experience is a plus. The successful candidate will have a high school diploma and appropriate maintenance related certifications.

STNA
Lutheran Memorial Home is currently looking to fill a State Tested Nursing Assistant position. This part-time position includes every other weekend, with opportunities to pick up additional shifts during the week.

Candidates must have a valid Ohio nurse aide license and previous facility experience is strongly preferr

LPN
Lutheran Memorial Home is currently looking to fill a Licensed Practical Nurse position. This part-time position includes every other weekend, with opportunities to pick up additional shifts during the week.

Candidates must have a valid Ohio LPN license and previous facility experience is strongly preferred.

Lutheran Home at Napoleon

MDS Coordinator
Lutheran Nursing and Rehabilitation Center has a full-time opening for an experienced MDS coordinator to manage the completion and accuracy of the MDS and care plan documentation. Candidates must have 3 years experience and hands-on, working knowledge of the MDS process and Medicare guidelines. Knowledge in billing processes is helpful.

A Registered Nurse is preferred, but an experienced LPN may be considered for the position.
