LHS Community Services
Providing Youth Outreach, Parish Nursing, and Elderly Services, LHS Community Services has played a vital role in helping those in need. The Lutheran/Interfaith Network of Caring Services Program (LINCS), for example, helps the elderly remain living independently in their homes for as long as possible.
LINCS offers assistance with transportation, medical and insurance billing questions, locating affordable senior housing or long-term care, legal services, personal care, housekeeping, prescription drug plans, home-delivered meals, and respite care.
LHS Family and Youth ServicesLHS Family and Youth Services has been providing community-based residential care and treatment to high-risk youth, aged six to eighteen, through an integrated service delivery system emphasizing family relationships and education.
Seriously disturbed children and youth who have histories of multiple failed placements, administrative discharge from institutional settings, involvement with the juvenile court system, and repeated hospitalization are served through five residential homes, three seriously behaviorally handicapped (SBH) classrooms, special mentoring sessions, diagnostic assessments, counseling services, mental health education, and the Partners in Treatment Family Weekend program. The Asperger's program at the LHS Maumee Youth Center for Asperger's Disorder, is only one of two such facilities in Ohio.
