The friend-raising and fund-raising efforts of the LHS Foundation through its Ministry Advancement Program directly support the achievement of LHS’s chief organizational goals. Five goals have been adopted that support our advancement mission.
Goal 1: Increase personal visitation with key board members; volunteers; families; member and covenant member congregations; and community friends. Ministry Advancement staff members will visit prospective and current donors to educate, cultivate, and solicit new outright annual fund gifts, major gifts, and planned gifts in support of LHS’s identified institutional needs.
Goal 2: Enhance and expand communication with all donor constituencies by: (a) using The Friend newsletter to share information and ideas with all those interested in our caring ministry, (b) continuing to distribute The Doerfler Fellowship Newsletter with articles about various aspects of planned giving, (c) rebuilding and broadening the LHS website to include more information and opportunities for donors, and (d) hosting special events for the Annual Giving Fellowship and the Planned Giving Fellowship.
Goal 3: Strengthen charitable fund-raising capacity, capability, comprehen-siveness, and quality through targeted core-competence-building activities and new program development.
Goal 4: Strengthen annual gifts, planned giving, and create more capital gifts.
Goal 5: Increase the LHS Foundation general endowment by $100,000 per year in new gifts for each of the next five years with special emphasis on unrestricted endowment gifts.
