Welcome to Lutheran Homes Society

Lutheran Homes Society (LHS) is a recognized leader in providing residential services to seniors and youth through effective programs, well-maintained facilities and caring staff.

What makes Lutheran Homes Society "different" is that all aspects of our ministry revolve around our mission statement and our core set of values. The mission statement and values identify the way in which we provide care and services to our residents, the way we relate to our staff and volunteers, and the way we care for the community at large.

In August 2010, Lutheran Homes Society began celebrating 150 years of service to youth and elderly in northwest Ohio and southeast Michigan with a weekend of festivities for the community. The 150th Anniversary celebration is ongoing for LHS employees and residents at the various ministry sites through August 2011. Lutheran Homes Society was founded on August 6, 1860, in the days leading up to the Civil War. The Society's ministry began as a home for orphans, but expanded in 1906 to include care of the elderly. Today, more than 2,500 youth and elderly located throughout northwest Ohio and southeast Michigan benefit from LHS residential and community services.
