Unrestricted Annual Giving

The LHS Annual Fund operates on an annual cycle, starting over at the beginning of each year. The Annual Fund provides regular income used for the current year's expenses and underwrites annual operating budgets which enhance the quality of care received by each resident we serve at every facility within the organization.

Annual giving is a significant barometer of an organization's health and must be kept in a vigorous and growing state. Lutheran Homes Society believes the Annual Fund is the flagship fund of an organization. It is basic, essential, and fundamental to increasing the donor base, and is, therefore, an integral part of all successful fundraising. This fund helps pay for essential programs such as independent living assistance, the Asperger's program at the LHS Maumee Youth Center for Asperger's Disorder, the five group home settings for children aged 6 to 18+, and the specialized care and treatment of severely emotionally disturbed (SED) children and youth; and vital community services to seniors through the Lutheran Interfaith Network of Caring Services (LINCS).

Making a gift to the LHS Annual Fund is important because it is an unrestricted gift. Your financial commitment to this fund provides the necessary financial flexibility to support immediate LHS operational needs and important projects. It also sends a very strong philanthropic message to other prospective donors and assists LHS in attracting additional external funding. When making gift and grant decisions, many major gift donors, as well as most companies and foundations consider your gift a vote of confidence in the mission and ministries of LHS. Thankfully, many of our donors have given to the LHS Annual Fund each year for many years. We encourage you to join the growing number of our donors who have supported the LHS Annual Fund each year by doing the same. Every gift, no matter the size, is important to the LHS Annual Fund.
